Telelectrix is an electronic synth rock band based out of Boston, MA. Filled with layers of catchy melodies and sweeping chord changes, along with nuances of 70's Prog Rock, 80's New Wave and current electronic pop acts such as CHVRCHES and Cut Copy, the music of Telelectrix stirs up moments of nostalgia while hinting at the future of electronic dance rock.
Formed in the winter of 2014 and armed with a handful of songs by songwriter and synth player Steven Borek, Telelectrix was born out of a desire to write engaging electronic dance songs that would get the crowds up on their feet and moving, yet which would retain a pop-rock feel in their intensity and live delivery. "There are so many awesome rock bands in Boston and it's what I love to play, but I do not often see a lot of dancing at these shows..." says Borek. "Why not try this with synths instead of guitars and change up the rhythms a bit, and maybe I can get people to enjoy both the energy of rock music and encourage them to dance at the same time?".
As the year 2014 progressed, Borek carefully constructed the band from persons of various musical backgrounds who would each add something special to an already unique sound: certified 80's nut Kate Lindsay on synths, the dynamic Jake O'Donnell on bass, and the powerful and engaging voice of vocalist Chelcie Gette.
Telelectrix debuted in January 2015 to a packed house at the Last Safe & Deposit Company in Lowell, MA and released their debut single "Illusions of the Mind" in April 2015. The Move EP was released in the Spring of 2016.
